Airport Frankfurt: all dressed up for Christmas

MK Illumination transformed one of mainland Europe’s busiest and most vibrant hub airports in Frankfurt with a dazzling Christmas display. The lighting design and decoration was created in consultation with Frankfurt airport management, FRAPORT AG. The display for the 2014 Christmas season incorporated MK Illumination’s classic String Lites, Magic Lites and Drape Lites, which created a warm and inviting Christmas atmosphere for the airport. Projections of falling snowflakes in Terminal 2 also added to the Christmas feeling. Drawing inspiration from the architecture of the four main halls of the airport terminal, the design concept for the display involved several modules of lighting and decoration that illuminated the entrances to the halls. Brilliant frames of light on the facades guaranteed that both departing and arriving passengers were immersed in the festive atmosphere.
