City of Lappeenranta

Lappeenranta is Finland’s 13th largest city and is situated on the shore of Lake Saimaa. MK Illumination Baltic was approached by the municipality for ideas on brightening up the city’s outdoor areas over the festive season, and they proposed a simple but effective festive lighting solution.

Street lamps were decorated with a mix of green garlands encrusted with glittering light points, as well as unusual geometric hanging motifs in warm white, which added a festive touch to streets and pedestrian walkways throughout the city. In the main square, additional snowflake motifs adorned the glass corridor to the underground parking area, strings of handing lights adorned the square’s lamp posts, and a star-topped Christmas tree strung with lights completed the festive feel.
