Jelmoli is the largest premium department store in Switzerland. It boasts 6 floors and an assortment of about 2 million articles from many of the world’s most popular brands, all encased in listed building.

The so-called “Glass Palace” was built in 1898 in a style known today as the “Chicago style”, so when MK Illumination Switzerland was awarded the contract to fill the store with festive lighting, they knew that in addition to creating a stunning lighting experience, the design needed to work in harmony with the historical features of the department store.

The festive lighting display required careful installation to make sure that the building’s historic features were protected, and included Kronux products from our Pure Light Collection, which are particularly well-suited to highlighting architectural features.

To further enhance the space, the lighting effects were specifically tailored to highlight the architectural style of the Glass Palace and added to the Christmas atmosphere throughout the season.
