Nano Nagle Place, Cork, Ireland

Nano Nagle Place is an unexpected oasis in the center of bustling Cork City that encompasses a heritage center, gardens and café as well as an education center and community building.

In 2017, Nano Nagle Place knew that they wanted to do something different that would encourage people to visit during dark winter evening and they knew that light was the answer.

Working with MK Illumination Ireland, they decided to use  energy efficient LEDs and products from MK Illumination’s “Organics” range, which are made from recyclable materials, and combine these with warm white light to create a calm and inviting space in the heart of the busy city.

MK Illumination’s team worked closely with the architect to design a lighting concept that would complement the newly developed outdoor areas, not only during the Christmas season but throughout the year, too.

The end result was simple, but effective, and the gardens are filled with an atmospheric, welcoming light that welcomes visitors all year round.
