Schultheiss Quartier is Berlin’s newest shopping center, situated in Moabit in Mitte. The center opened in 2018 after a three-year development project that extended the listed building of the old Schultheissbrauerei and resulted in a 30,000 2m retail space with indoor and outdoor areas.
The center is architecturally stunning and retains the old brewery’s yellow brick façade from the 19th century as well as many other listed areas, and combines these features with contemporary elements. When MK Illumination was asked to provide ideas for Christmas lighting and decoration, it seemed only logical to continue the theme, and the resulting concept proposed both traditional and modern motifs in rich reds, warm whites and luscious greens that would create a festive atmosphere.
3D light art of wrapped presents from MK Illumination’s Organic range complemented the rustic design elements in the center, whilst strings of lights on the façade issued a warm welcome to pedestrians and drivers alike. The Christmas atmosphere continued outside into one of the center’s squares, where their Christmas marketing was watched over by a giant Christmas tree, resplendent in gold and red, and a canopy of warm-white lights.
