The Falls, Miami, Florida

The Falls is an open-air shopping mall in Kendall, Florida, designed around a lushly-landscaped man-made lagoon with a number of beautiful water features and bridges. For the holiday season in 2018, the mall wanted to add a festive atmosphere whilst keep the tropical look and feel. MK Illumination Canada West took the brief to heart, designing and installing a fountain made of brilliant white light points to act as a high in one of the water features, and in another, a 4.5-meter light sculpture of a hummingbird feeding from a blossom of light. The hummingbird proved to be incredibly popular, partly thanks to its size and beauty, and partly because of its gently changing colors!

The illuminated archway at the mall’s entrance gave a nod to a more traditional Christmas, its warm white deer supporting a sparkling red bauble.

The string lights adorning the bases of the palm trees through the mall added a subtle festive atmosphere that complemented the exotic festive highlights throughout the holidays.
