VanDusen Botanical Gardens, Vancouver

Winter is always a tricky time of the year when it comes to attracting visitors to botanical gardens. Although botanists will tell you that there is a great deal happening in the gardens over the coldest months of the years, it’s difficult to compare the winter landscape with the bright colors and warm weather of summer.

That’s why VanDusen Botanical Gardens in Vancouver fills its space with light and color of a different sort each winter. The VanDusen Festival of Lights is an annual experience that treats visitors to over 1 million lights spread over 15 acres of the Botanical Garden in Vancouver, and in 2019, MK Illumination Canada West was able to contribute a number of motifs and light sculptures to add to the holiday cheer.
