Christmas Grotto in Rødovre

For the first part of a two-year contract with Rødovre Centrum, the grotto theme was based on the classic Narnia story from C.S. Lewis’s children’s book and reflected ice, frost, adventure and beauty. The setting, in which the hand-made animated figures were placed as features among an attractive sculptured castle and the MK Illumination 3.2 meter Art Tree. The grotto was further enhanced by interactive activity: movement, light and sound by Narnia-inspired music. MK Illumination’s project for Rødovre Centrum, Denmark’s oldest independent shopping center involved the creation of a nostalgic, fairytale grotto with handmade, animated figures designed to captivate the imagination of children and create a traditional Christmas setting.
