Holstebro, Denmark

The city of Holstebro in Denmark wanted to refresh and revitalize their existing festive lighting and decoration, creating a “wow” effect by emphasizing the city’s landmarks, beautiful architecture and through that, the rich and varied culture of the city.

They worked with MK Illumination Denmark to identify specific features of the city and they chose structures like the music theater, picturesque buildings like the town church and the Town Hall, and the many statues that adorn the city.

In 2017, they started the first phase of the project, illuminating the music theater and a selection of other spots in the city, and in future phases they plan to light up other structures and statues until the city is filled with light.

Residents and visitors reacted positively to the new Christmas lighting and are looking forward to seeing how more light can add more festive atmosphere to the city over the years.
