Deventer Dickens Festival

In the picturesque Bergkwartier in Deventer, the world of Charles Dickens is brought to life with more than 950 characters from some of Dicken’ famous books during the 2-day Dickens Festival that takes place over two days in mid-December each year. In 2018, MK Illumination Holland brought Scrooge to life as a 7-meter high light sculpture that added extra festive flair to the event. The response to the light sculpture, which was placed in Keizerstraat, was overwhelmingly positive, with many saying that the miserly character was inextricably linked to the city.

Scrooge will be back in 2019, along with a variety of other street lighting and festive motifs to celebrate the Christmas season.
