Promenaden Hauptbahnhof

With its high ceilings and dramatic architecture, Promenaden Hauptbahnhof Leipzig is an impressive railway station. It’s a major travel hub but it’s also a well-used retail and event space throughout the year by locals and commuters, thanks to their diverse tenant mix and the regular events organized by the marketing team. Over the festive season, the station wanted to highlight its many features and create a festive atmosphere that would put travelers, shoppers and event-goers in the holiday mood. MK Illumination took advantage of the scale of the station, and created an enormous hanging light installation that hung in the main hall, visible over two levels and resplendent with strings of brilliant white light on a golden frame. This statement piece was complemented by additional strings of lighting in the station’s high windows, and greenery entwined with light that welcomed or bid farewell to passengers at the entrance to the station platforms on the lower level.
