Innsbruck’s “Kaufhaus Tyrol” full of festive flair for the holidays
If you’re in Innsbruck over the holidays – and you might want to be in order to take in the stunning views, atmospheric Christmas markets and holiday cheer – you’ll definitely want to stroll down Maria-Theresien-Straße and pop into “Kaufhaus Tirol”, the popular shopping center in the heart of the Alpine city.
With the help of MK Illumination’s festive lighting, the center offers a world-class shopping experience in a rather special Christmas atmosphere surrounded by glorious illuminated stars that have become a recognized and much-beloved part of the festive lighting experience over the holidays, especially the “Stern Tyrol” (Star of Tyrol) that adorns the main entrance to the center.
“It’s our fifth year of implementing festive lighting for Kaufhaus Tirol, and although I should be used to the final display, I can’t help but feeling uplifted when I see their lights. There is a perfect balance between architecture and the decorative lighting, and because the lighting was custom-designed for the space, it complements the clean lines and classy feel of the center,” said Andreas Frischmann, Head of Sales & Project Business Austria of MK Illumination. “The design was perfect when we installed it the first time, and it continues to amaze to this day.”
When you visit the center, look up and enjoy the sight of the 8 enormous shooting stars that hang suspended above you. Don’t miss the 18 trees of light in the inner arcades of the center, either. A total of 70,000 patented and energy-saving premium LEDs illuminate the department store, so you can shop in the knowledge that the center is doing what it can to produce sustainable lighting over the festive season, too.
