ACDC Lane, Melbourne

For Christmas 2024, MK Illumination Australia transformed one of Melbourne’s most iconic laneways, ACDC Lane, into a festive destination through the City of Melbourne’s Christmas Festival Laneway Lighting activation, in collaboration with local traders. Tucked between street art and hidden bars, the laneway came alive under a canopy of cascading warm white lights that created a dreamlike atmosphere in the heart of the city’s laneway culture — inviting discovery, interaction, and that perfect evening photo. The installation reflected the creative, edgy spirit of Melbourne, enhancing the night-time experience while supporting local businesses and bringing new energy to the precinct. Designed to complement the laneway’s unique character without overpowering it, this project demonstrated how thoughtful lighting can celebrate place, community, and culture through light.
